Scott Hawker featured in "Research @ RIT" Article
Prof Scott Hawker's work with the Lab for Environmental Computing and Decision Making (LECDM) was featured in Research @ RIT, RIT's bi-annual magazine.
LECDM is currently developing computer models to help analyze the effect of public policies on the environment. According to Dr. Hawker: “New modeling techniques have the potential to greatly improve public policy analysis. These models can ultimately be used by [government and organizations] to better inform public decisions related to environmental quality, alternative energy development, and sustainable transportation design.”

Dr. Xu comes to us from the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Irvine, where she earned her PhD of Software Engineering. She will be teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses.

Software Engineering Instructors receive NSF grant!
Software Engineering instructors Stephanie Ludi and Tom Reichlmayr recently received a grant from the National Science Foundation. Totalling $475,000, the grant will be used to advance computing opportunities for visually impaired students.

Marc Baumbach, SE '08, was recently featured in the New York Times for his work on Hotel Proxy, a unique piece of reservation software making waves in the hotel industry. Mark created Hotel Proxy with two other students during his senior year at RIT.
