Outfitted with the latest hardware and software technology, our facilities reflect our commitment to teamwork, interactive learning, and professional education. The computing facilities of the Department of Software Engineering are driven solely by curricular needs. Our focus is on what our students need to do with the computer and networks we provide them.
The SE computing facilities are connected to the gigabit RIT campus backbone with an OC3 connection to the Internet. Students have access to our facilities via Ethernet in their dorm rooms or via dial-up PPP connections from off-campus locations. Institutional facilities provide a location for students to develop their own presence on the Web. The overall campus facilities have consistently been rated in the top twenty universities by national surveys. The RIT Code of Conduct for Computer Use is available online for RIT staff, students, and faculty.
The SE department has also enabled Software Engineering students to download software from a software vendors. These vendor alliances provide students the opportunity to further enhance their skills and keep up with the latest technology.
Mentoring and tutoring services are also available on campus - schedules and information are updated quarterly.
