Co-op and Careers

Learn how RIT's co-op program prepares students for full-time employment. Software Engineering students complete four co-op blocks - 10 weeks of paid employment in their field of interest.

In this video, students explain the co-op program, and share first-hand accounts of their experiences at companies like Microsoft, Walt Disney, EA Games and more.

This video also includes feedback from employers who have worked with our students, and career statistics for the field (salary, projected growth, etc).

Senior Project Capstone

Senior Project is a capstone course completed by every Software Engineering senior at RIT. Small teams of students are assigned to solve challenging, software issues for real-world companies and organizations. Over the course of two quarters, teams work directly with the customer to design and build software that meets the customer's needs.

Society of Software Engineers

The Society of Software Engineers (SSE) is a vibrant student organization at Rochester Institute of Technology. Members include current students, alumni and faculty.

SSE helps students jump into student life at RIT, and offers a wide range of opportunities, including:

- Social activities (camping, paintball, an annual ball and more)
- Mentoring and course review sessions
- Weekly Tech Talks presented by students, to help share new ideas
- Company visits from prospective employers
- Networking with students, alumni and employers
