Welcome

Welcome to the Kodak Retail Photofinishing Collage Page Layout 2007-2008 Senior Project website. We are The Photorganizers.

The Kodak Retail Photofinishing Collage Page Layout project consists of two subprojects. Part one involves the refactoring of the existing Kodak Layout component. This component is responsible for laying out multiple images on a single canvas. The current implementation uses a "Simulated Annealing" algorithm that has numerous shortcomings that must be addressed by our team.

For the second subproject, our team will develop an application in ASP.NET that uses the component from part one to layout users' pictures on one or more pages. The application will make use of all of the layout component's features (existing and new). The application will be an independent piece of software that has the same look and feel as the other kiosk applications. Our team will address these two subprojects simultaneously.

This project is currently being developed using the Software Engineering Effectiveness Model, or SEEM, a process methodology that builds on the best practices gleaned from eXtreme Programming and the Rational Unified Process, among others. The SEEM process was first introduced to the members of our team by Tom Bullinger while he was a professor at RIT.
