I am an Assistant Professor in Software Engineering and an affiliated factulty of the Center for Cybersecurity at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Prior to this, I have been a Research Scientist at RIT, intern at Google, and Software Engineer at Alcatel-Lucent.

I recieved a PhD in Computer Science in 2016 under the guidance of Professor Munindar P. Singh and an MS in Computer Science in 2012, both, from North Carolina State University.

The overarching theme of my research is engineering social applications. I develop computational abstractions and techniques to enable social applications to deliver a personalized, context-aware, and privacy-preserving experience, offering benefits to both application devlopers and end-users.

Engineering social applications is not a unitary challenge. My works on addressing these challenges span three (overlapping) themes.

  • Software engineering: requirements, agent-oriented, context-aware (mobile and social) apps
  • Privacy and security: multiuser privacy, cyber analytics, software security
  • Social computing: multiagent systems, social norms, trust, social network and content analysis, crowdsourcing, human factors (e.g., personality and creativity)
