Project SMARTS

Lockheed Martin is the largest Aerospace and Defense company in the world. Headquartered in Bethesda, MD, with its influence spanning the world. Lockheed has many business areas within it, one of which being the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS). Currently, RMS has a system to track software assets, or licenses, and maintenance for those assets. This system is relegated to a single Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, which allows members of the team to track assets and maintenance renewals, but is flawed in the sense that it lacks proper optimization, requires a barrier to entry in the form of advanced Excel techniques, and is more manually intensive, time-consuming, and prone to errors than it needs to be.

The goal of Team Smarticus (named after the project name, "Software Maintenance Asset Repository & Tracking System - SMARTS") is to replace the current system with a .NET web application developed with a SQL database, allowing for enhanced capabilities such as workflows to add/modify assets, import/export capabilities, reminder alerts for asset renewals, interfaces to existing procurement and ledger systems, and enhanced analytics. This mobile-friendly web application would allow for a total conversion of the software asset data, as well as providing graphical dashboards to allow for data visibility for end users consisting of administrators, portfolio owners, financial personnel, and any other general users. This revised system will streamline the asset management process, saving time and effort.

Project Manager

Growing up with technology ingrained into my everyday life, it only made sense to pursue a career in Software Engineering. I love both the structured, and creative aspects to it. But when I'm not studying or programming, I'm usually trying new restaurants around Rochester, or playing guitar.

Hello! I'm a full time student and part time Integration Engineer so as you can imagine I have a pretty tight schedule. However, when I do get the chance to take a break I am a passionate cook and love keeping busy with my hobbies of roleplaying games like D&D, video games, and swimming.

Joey Bovio

Software Developer

I’m passionate about programming with a preference towards back end systems. I love learning about new technologies. Originally I’m from Colorado, so obviously when I’m not coding I love doing things outdoors such as hiking, skiing, and traveling to new places.

Alex Wilczek

Software Developer

I have a fondness for programming, both front and back end, and a particular interest in software testing and security; in other words, I like breaking things. Being from a small town in upstate NY, I find myself on the internet talking with friends and playing video games in my free time, along with cooking and listening to music.
