Project Deliverable - Analysis Phase:
Goals and Influence (Individual)

***

Assignment

Individually and then as a team, you have compiled a list of Acceptance Criteria for your project. In the process you have come up with a preliminary list of various stakeholders and have identified some motivations from each as to why actions from the user might be of value. We now want you to consider each stakeholder (including possible different types of users of the system) and consider their "higher-level" goals and influence factors. Many aspects of your project are still to be defined and these are "somewhat fictitious" set of scenarios. Research/Invent/expand the narrative of your project story in order to accomplish the steps below. Be creative!

The steps to complete are as follows:

  1. Extract and extend your list of ALL of your project stakeholders, even those who indirectly can impact the project. (e.g. Users/sponsors/entities overseeing the outcomes, etc.). Do not use your names as stakeholders, instead use ROLES (e.g. CTO-Chief Technical Officer, Developer, Monroe County, FDA-Food and Drug Administration, etc.)
  2. For each stakeholder identify at least ONE primary GOAL for each of the categories: Social, Technical, Financial, Reputational. If not all categories apply to all stakeholders that is OK. Label these as "Type-Goal-#: xyz..". (e.g. Financial-Goal-1: xyz..)
(*) Be as succinct/precise as possible when denoting the goal. One or two sentences should suffice for each.
  3. Once you are done with the GOALs, and any new stakeholders are identified, you now need to determine each stakeholders level of influence. To that end, you need to identify what aspects each stakeholder has influence on. Of course, there may be many things a stakeholder can do to help or hinder so you need to focus on those where they have "power to sway" an outcome. Label these under each stakeholder as "Influence-#: abc..". (e.g. Influence-1: can do abc in response to fgh..)
  4. Lastly, based on their perceived level of influence on the overall project, sort and number each stakeholder "section" in order of highest-influence to lowest-influence.
