Privacy Policy (Individual)

It is likely the case that you have faced the challenge of interpreting a Privacy Policy many times. Even more, the likelihood that you skipped or skimmed it in lieu of just wanting to move forward is quite high. In this assignment you will look for and analyze two privacy policies from applications that you use quite frequently.
As a first step document the following:
- Make a list of the Names of applications that you use regularly and rank them from most frequently used to least frequently. (Hint: Think of what you did all this week... list should be comprehensive.)
- Add as Prefix to the application Name the Company/Entity that created the software.
- Now create a list of the Companies and rank them based on which you consider Most trust worthy to least.
You are now going to search for the Privacy Policies of the applications that are most disparate in your "trusting scale". If you are unable to find one, move to the next "inward" ranked app. For each of them create a separate section in your document:
- Record the location/URL where the Policy can be found
- Record the time stamp of the last update to the Policy
- Read the "entire" policy. If there is any reference to external items/addendums add these to the specific Policy's URL(s) above.
As a final step, describe your impressions regarding the two policies:
- What similarities and differences did you find?
- What effects has familiarizing with the policy had on how you perceive the Company/Entity/Product?
- Knowing what you know now would you consider no longer using the application? Will you? Why/why not?
- What if any, specific changes would you make to improve the policies? The way in which they are communicated? Or any other aspects related to their use?
