This is the team web page for The Curators, the 2019-2020 RIT SWEN Senior Project team working on the Gallery Gateway.
The Gallery Gateway is an art work submission and judging tool used by the RIT College of Art and Design. The project was created two years by Team Abstraction, another Software Engineering Senior Project team. The sponsor, Nanette Salvaggio, has requested an expansion to the functionality of the tool. This project is a follow on project and is in need of some minor bug fixes, added functionality, and UI improvements.
The major new feature requested is the addition of a scholarship application subsystem that accepts a portfolio of work from the submitter rather than individual files. The sponsor wants to simplify the process of applying for one or more scholarships by moving the application process to the Gallery Gateway tool. This tool will also allow ???Judge??? users to view and rank portfolios on a scale of one to five. The tool???s ???Administrator??? user(s) will then be able to export the judging results for offline delivery to the scholarship committee.
The sponsor specifically mentioned several minor improvements. The first improvement is to correct the broken tracking of individual and team submissions. The second improvement is to allow the Administrator to edit existing shows or submissions. There was also a desire for a more unified UI experience, integrated email notification sending, user profile management, and backup functionality for the system. A stretch goal is opening access to the tool beyond the current user base of RIT students, staff, and faculty.
