Risks and Rules of Engagement

Group Assignment

Your team needs to explore how work is going to be accomplished. More specifically how to work together, maintain proper behaviors and ensure efficiency and harmony throughout the semester.

For your team to behave ethically it will be paramount that you establish your own "code". This need not be as comprehensive as that of our discipline but shall encompass the following:

  1. List of steps/process you will follow to address disagreement.
  2. Agreed time(s) for team to hold weekly outside of class meetings
  3. Values that you will uphold when collaborating/communicating/sharing with teammates
  4. Other aspects that you consider are essential to be defined up-front for the team to work well together.

Additionally:

  • A list of risks the team considers likely to occur. These may pertain to the nature of working in a team environment, potential pitfalls of following a software process or aspects associated with negative outcomes if the rules of engagement are not followed.
  • Define a few incentives/reward/means of celebration as team progresses through the semester
  • Define dis-incentives/"punitive" measures that you can realistically execute/enforce to ensure progress and accountability
