Introduction to Alberto Rodriguez

Alberto is a graduate student at RIT on the Software Engineering MS program. His expected graduation date is December 2013.

Has been working with Prof. Meneely since Fall 2012 on different research projects related to Software Vulnerabilities in Open Source projects, and their relationship with the development process.

Co-authored a publication titled “When a patch goes bad: Exploring the properties of vulnerability-contributing commits”, which was published in Proceedings of the 2013 ACM-IEEE International Symposium on Empirical Software Engineering and Measurement.

His interests include Version Control Workflows, Strategies and Branching Models, Software Development Processes, Agile Methodologies, and tools that support the overall development process.

Has more than 10 years of programming experience, of which 5 years were working with .NET and Java technologies in the industry.

He got his Bachelor in Systems Engineering at Universidad APEC (Dominican Republic) in 2010.

Alberto is currently working on his Capstone research project, which will be based on the Chromium Code Inspections project. The main goal of this research is to better understand the code review process, and its relationship with the prevention of vulnerabilities.
