Masters of Disaster - Datto Disaster Tracking

Datto Inc. is a vendor of backup, disaster recovery (BDR) and Intelligent Business Continuity (IBC) devices. Customers purchase Datto’s solution in preparation for events such as power outages, floods, fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes. Currently, Datto has no way to inform customers of weather events that may affect their company. The goal of the Disaster Tracking and Alerting project is to provide Datto with a way to proactively warn customers of inclement weather events that may affect their business, ensuring they are prepared before disaster strikes. This goal will be achieved by providing both Datto and their customers with multiple ways to monitor disaster events. This solution will include a website that uses geolocation and weather tracking to provide Datto with information on all of their devices, any inclement weather, and customers who are at the highest risk. Customers will also be able to view similar information about their own devices via both a website and an iOS application. The mobile application will utilize push notifications to warn customers who are at high risk at a moments notice, wherever they are.
